Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Moments Locaux ("we", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes the data we collect and how we use it.

Data collected

We collect: account information (email, name, profile photo), the email address you provide for launch updates, location data (with your consent), interactions (favorites, comments, follows), event suggestions (including poster photos), reports, shared content and technical data (device, app version). Alpha does not include check-in or organiser event creation.

Legal bases

Each processing activity relies on a GDPR Article 6 legal basis.

Launch list (email): your consent. You can withdraw it at any time on the Unsubscribe page, or by writing to hello@moments-locaux.com.

Contact form: pre-contractual steps and legitimate interest (replying to your message). This is not marketing consent.

In-app account and service: performance of the contract (terms of use).

In-app location: your consent, via device permissions. This location is sent to Google to choose an ad only if you also accept that point in the advertising form.

Advertising cards on the free version: your consent, collected in the app before the first card. Acceptance may cover personalised cards. Refusal shows no cards.

Website audience and performance measurement (Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights): your consent, via the cookie banner.

Moderation and reports (DSA): legal obligation. Security, technical logs and form anti-spam: legitimate interest.

How we use data

Your data is used to provide the Alpha service (event discovery, map, notifications, connecting with friends, poster suggestion, Lumia assistant), send launch updates with your consent, ensure moderation and security, and comply with legal obligations.

Location

Access to your location is optional but recommended for the map and proximity alerts. You can revoke this permission in your device settings at any time. It is sent to Google to choose an ad only if you also accept that point in the advertising form.

Advertising cards in the app

The free version of the app may show advertising cards served by Google (AdMob). These cards are separate from events: they show the word Advertisement and the advertiser’s name.

If you accept, cards may be personalised. Manage options lets you keep the cards and turn off personalisation, or turn off location only. Location is used to choose the ad only if you accept that point. On iPhone, after a yes to personalised cards, the phone may show Allow Tracking. Refusing that prompt keeps the cards, without the advertising identifier.

A consent form is shown before the first card. If you refuse, no card is displayed. You can review this choice in the app: Settings, then Advertising.

An active Habitué or Éclaireur subscription removes the cards. Without an active subscription, the account stays on the free version. That subscription is not offered for purchase in the app until the offer opens.

Third-party services

We use Vercel (website hosting, audience and performance measurement only with your consent), Supabase (authentication, database and website forms), Brevo (transactional authentication emails and contact emails), Mapbox (in-app mapping), Expo (builds and notifications), OpenAI (AI processor for Lumia and poster reading), Google AdMob (in-app advertising cards, only after consent) and Apple / Google (sign-in and distribution). These providers process data on our behalf under their policies and our contracts.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers may process data outside the EU (including the United States): Supabase, Mapbox, Expo, OpenAI, Vercel, Brevo, Google AdMob, Apple and Google. These transfers are covered by their DPAs and, where applicable, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Retention

In-app account and profile: while the account is active, then deletion on request.

Launch list: until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or that launch communication ends.

Contact form messages: for as long as needed to handle your request, then up to 12 months, unless a legal obligation applies. You can ask for deletion at hello@moments-locaux.com.

Account exports (app): 24 hours.

Bug reports and technical logs: 6 to 12 months.

Cookie banner proof: stored locally on your device until you change your choice or clear site data.

Lumia chat: is not stored on our servers.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, port and object to processing. For the launch list, you can withdraw consent on the Unsubscribe page (link below), as easily as you signed up. For other rights: hello@moments-locaux.com.

Artificial intelligence processing

Lumia (chat) and poster suggestion temporarily send text or a photo to a processor (OpenAI) to produce an answer or prefill a form. Chat history is not stored on our servers. A poster photo may include faces or places: you are informed before it is sent. These treatments are not used to train models on your content, subject to the current processor contract. Check-in and advanced recommendation engines are not active AI in Alpha.

Minors

Moments Locaux is not intended for people under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.

Strictly necessary cookies or local storage may be used for the site to work (for example to remember your consent choice). These are set without extra action from you.

Audience and performance measurement (Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights) is enabled only if you accept it in the banner. These tools are designed to limit personal data; you can refuse or change your choice at any time from the footer.

The mobile app keeps the session with technical tokens on the device. Its free version may also show Google advertising cards after consent. Details are in the Advertising cards section.

Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or this website.
